Ghost Forest

Ghost Forest highlights the demise of Ash trees in central Ohio due to the Emerald Ash Borers. I honor and mourn the loss of these trees while recreating their ghosts from the husks of bark and paper forms.

Acts of Devotion

Woven pods represent both wombs and shrouds, celebrating and nurturing the birth or mourning and honoring the death of nature. Each pod contains a small relic of the natural world.

Derecho

Created after a Derecho hit the woods I hike in, the sculpture is an attempt to mend nature by recreating the shape of limbs with handmade paper nestled into the broken bark.

Forest for the Trees

“You can’t see the forest for the trees” -the failure to see the big picture and the dire need for environmental protections. Weaving, darning, and sewing represent attempts to repair and mend the earth.

Weaver Birds

Weaver bird nests highlight the delicate balance between strength and destruction.
